Skiing Tricks - Railslide

Railslide is one of the many tricks that you can perform on straight rails. In this section, learn how to do a Railslide. You can use the animation as you go through our easy-to-follow steps.

STEP 1: To start off, ski at moderate speed and approach the rail.

STEP 2: As you reach the rail, twist 90 degress so your Skis will be perpendicular to the rail. Make sure that the soles of your Ski Boots are at the center of the rail to maintain balance.

STEP 3: Glide smoothly and keep your weight centered on both feet in order to stay balanced. Focus at the end of the rail. This will really help you to finish the trick sucessfully.

STEP 4: As you reach the end of the rail, turn your shoulders the way you want to exit. Your Skis should be parallel to the rail before you land.

STEP 5: Slide off the rail for a smooth landing and then ride away.

This is one of the basic maneuvers that you can do on straight rails. Get comfortable in moving on rails or boxes so you can progress to more difficult tricks.
