Skiing Tricks - Daffy

In the world of Freestyle Skiing Tricks, Daffy refers to a trick wherein you will split in the air. In other words, you will put one leg in front of you and the other one at the back. Learn how a Daffy is done in this section. Let our animation guide you as you go through the steps.

STEP 1: To start off, ski at moderate speed and approach the lip of the jump.

STEP 2: Prepare to do the mid-air split as you take off.

STEP 3: Move your one leg in front of you and the other one behind you. At this point, the Ski at the front aims upward while the other one points downward.

STEP 4: Put them back in their original position (parallel to each other) and spot your landing.

STEP 5: Stomp at the landing, bend your knees to absorb the impact, and then ride away.

The Daffy is an advanced trick which entails proper timing and enough height from the ground so that the Skis will not touch the snow as you do the split. Get accustomed to doing jumps first before attempting this trick.
