Skiing Tricks - Back Flip Iron Cross

The Back Flip Iron Cross is a combination of two aerial tricks - the Back Flip and the Iron Cross. This is all about doing a somersault with your Skis crossed. Learn how to perform this trick in this section. Make use of our animation as you go through the steps.

STEP 1: To start off, ski at moderate speed and approach the lip of the jump.

STEP 2: Prepare to cross your Skis as you reach the lip. Incline your head back when you take off as if you are looking skyward.

STEP 3: Once you get airborne, do the back flip and cross your Skis.

STEP 4: Uncross your Skis as you finish the somersault and then spot the landing.

STEP 5: Position your Skis parallel to each other and prepare to land. Bend your kness to absorb the impact.

STEP 6: Stomp at the landing and then ride away.

Brush up on your Back Flip and Iron Cross first if you want to try this combo. The Back Flip Iron Cross just goes to show that you can make your own combination of tricks. Just take note, though, that you should always consider your ability. Do not try doing tricks which are beyond your skill level.
