Ski Bindings - Components, Release Settings, and Buying Guide
As far as safety is concerned, Ski Bindings are the most important piece of Skiing Equipment. They form the connection between the Skis and
Ski Boots and likewise between your Skis and your body. All the movements and pressures you place on your boot are directed to your Skis through your Ski Bindings. It's called a DIN setting because the standards for Alpine ski binding settings are issued by the Deutsches Institut für Normung which in English means the German Institute for Standardization. Hope that answers your question.

What makes a "Jib" ski binding different from a standard alpine binding? Jibbing just means doing tricks on something like a rail, ramp, jump, half pipe, etc.?
