MegaRex, a two-layer fabric with a waterproof/breathable laminate coating plus a DWR finish, is extremely durable and delivers excellent weatherproofing. And new for the 2011 line, the Amphibian Down jacket has been constructed with a technique to deliver complete waterproofing with 100% taped seams. With this specialized construction, the down insulation is allowed to do it's job right, even in the wettest conditions, guaranteeing you stay warm. At 550 fill power down, a good middle ground for quality down, you can stay comfortable in bluebird sunny conditions and with a light midlayer, still feel warm in chilly overcast conditions. And when things get a little too warm for comfort, the Amphibian Down jacket has snag-free mesh lined pit vents that can easily be accessed for some on-the-go air conditioning. The hood of the Amphibian is fixed but helmet compatible with a Reactiv Hood System that shrinks the hood down to fit snugly around your head or helmet with a simple tug of the adjustment tab.
