Over the past twenty years, the Mahre Training Centers have established an international reputation for quality ski instruction, innovative skiing techniques, and impressive results. Now available exclusively at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, Mahre Training Centers offer you the rare opportunity to dramatically improve your skiing skills while enjoying the ski vacation of a lifetime.
During your three- or five-day training session you will learn the special training techniques developed by former US Ski Team Coach and Director Harold Schoenhaar and used by the Mahres to win Olympic medals. These unique ski training methods have been adapted to benefit all levels of recreational skiers as well as serious ski racers in a camp format. By camp's end you’ll be skiing with greater confidence, control, and speed.
For All Skiing Abilities
Whether you are a novice skier or an aspiring racer, Mahre Training Centers are for you. Participants are grouped according to skiing ability and interest level for maximum learning and enjoyment.
Whether you're 12 or 80 you'll always feel welcome in your group of skiers.
Through on-hill exercises that emphasize balance and one's natural skiing stance, skiers of all levels soon experience exciting new horizons.
All skiers will have plenty of opportunity to perfect their general skiing skills, and specific techniques for moguls, ice, steeps, and powder.
A gate-skiing progression is used to teach the beginning recreational racer how to choose the best line through the gates, achieve explosive starts, and develop race tactics.
Advanced racers will follow a training method similar to the one used by Phil and Steve Mahre to achieve their success.
Coaching
The student/teacher ratio is low so you can be assured of quality coaching and individual attention. With the different ability zones of skiers, this may vary from 3:1 to a maximum of 7:1.
Your coach will tailor the Mahre Training Center progression to the needs of your group.
One of the Mahre twins will accompany you on the hill for hands-on skiing demonstrations and pointers.
Instant feedback on your progress is available through video analysis on a daily basis.
Evening discussions on ski equipment and techniques also create opportunities for social interaction.
