Chatter Creek Snowcat Skiing
Skiing and snowboarding at Chatter Creek has been described by some of our guests as North Americas best kept secret.
The Mountain Lodge Experience
A mountain lodge has many advantages over staying in town. Being in the mountains. The fresh air and lack of "town noise" are all things that add to the special feeling of being in the back country.
Less travel time
At Chatter Creek our lodge is situated in a central location within the operating area. Our snowcats head out from the lodge in a number of directions and guests are often skiing 15 or 20 minutes after leaving the lodge. Sometimes skiing right to the lodge at the end of the day.
Meals
You never have to leave the lodge to find a restaurant. Our chef prepare's breakfast and dinners while each guest creates their own lunch from an assortment of healthy and delicious food. Amenities are within a minute walk. Hot Tub, Bar, Massage, darts and pool table, quite reading areas.
Safety
Avalanche safety is number 1 at Chatter Creek. We use 2 professional guides per group. The lead guide is ACMG, UIAGM or CSGA qualified, followed by a qualified Tail Guide.
All guides undergo a strict education program and time in the field to gain experience to lead guests safely in the mountains.
Chatter Creek is a member of the Canadian Avalanche Center Infoex program . This program compiles information from 65 ski operators, parks and industries that send in daily snow reports on avalanche safety, including accidents or near accidents, and sends back broader daily information to the operators.
This is invaluable information and gives a larger snow pack and weather picture than can be gained from individual operators weather stations.
Chatter Creek also belongs to the BCHSSOA, an organization of cat skiing & helicopter skiing companies operating in B.C. This group has its own internal safety inspections of member operators and has stringent operating bylaws for the safety and the good of the industry.
