Powder Mountain Catskiing is amazing. It has runs for all abilities, from first time powder skiers to seasoned backcountry powder hounds.
We have over 4300 acres of virgin powder snow for you to sink turns in. We receive over 430 inches of snow annually - over 40% more snow than Whistler Blackcomb. This ensures that when you come out into the backcountry you will get the goods. Epic Coast Range powder snow untracked until you arrive and make your mark. We may be only 20 minutes down the road from Whistler towards Squamish on highway 99 but we are in a different snow belt. We get more. Way, more. No snow farming here!
We have two different ski areas:
Tricouni is a tree skiing mecca. Great runs through the trees with an average vertical of 1600 to 2000 feet. It is the closest area to our base lodge. Old growth and new growth forest with glades makes for great runs. We ski here when the weather is closed in. When it’s dumping snow and everywhere is closed, this is where you want to be. Some of our best days are here, when it’s dumping 10 cm’s an hour and your tracks are covered by the time you get back up to the top of the run. When “The Peak” is closed, when 7th Heaven is closed and everyone else is stuck in Whistler village waiting for the “good stuff” to open, book a seat. Jump in the cat and well take you to not just the good stuff, we’ll take you to the “REAL Good Stuff”
Cypress is the second area. This is an alpine monster. Great runs ranging from 1500 to 3000 vertical feet with everything you could imagine for skiing and riding. Open faces with perfect pitch for first timers and face shots. Tree runs through trees you didn’t know could be that big or have such perfect spacing. Glades that will leave you howling with stoke. There are epic chutes and banks and features to jump off that will remind you why you ski and ride in the first place. The view from our peaks is amazing. You can see Whistler Blackcomb to the north, Black Tusk to the east and Mount Fee to the northwest. You are surrounded by a 360 degree panorama of huge BC mountains. The view will take your breath away. You will burn through a roll of film in the first run. This is high alpine terrain and sometimes after big storms can take a few days to get into as you need the visibility to see where you are skiing.
Describing our ski areas and trying to decide which one is better is like trying to figure out which one of your kids you love the most. We can’t do it, both are so great and so much fun. It doesn’t matter which of our five peaks you ski. Drop in on your first run with us, sink down into the powder and feel the magic and it won’t matter if you have been backcountry skiing a hundred times or whether its your first day at a powder ski resort, you will have the best day ever. We’ve looked all over the world for this place. Now we can’t wait for you to discover it and loose your mind. Just like we did!
Enough talk, let’s ride.
