SKI GUIDE TRAINING
THINKING OF A CAREER AS A SKI GUIDE? WANT TO FEEL MORE CONFIDENT LEADING IN THE BACKCOUNRY?  If so, we have a program for you.
This one-week introduction to ski guide training program will help you acquire experience, skills and exposure that you will need to start a career in one of the fastest growing adventure tourism sectors. Or for your own knowledge to feel more comfortable traveling in snow terrain.
 
This initiative was inspired by a growing demand for ski guides due in part to the expansion of existing Heli-Ski, Cat Ski and Backcountry Operators and due to new operators rapidly opening in Canada's backcountry. Join us in this exciting career in the outdoors!

We offer 1, 2 and 4 day Avalanche Safety Programs geared to backcountry skiers, snowboarders, mountaineers, snow shoers, snowmobilers and anyone playing outside a controlled snow pack environment.

Each course consists of videos, slides, lectures and interactive discussion and one full day of hands-on field training with state-of-the-art avalanche rescue equipment. Participants will learn to read the clues of snow pack, weather and terrain. You will learn to evaluate hazard and assess risk. You will actively participate in transceivers searches, snow stability testing, snow pack analysis and avalanche search & rescue scenarios. Each course is a balance of classroom training and field practice. Expect an intense experience with a full schedule.

MOUNTAIN RESCUE 101-
 
IF THERE WERE AN ACCIDENT, WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO SAVE LIVES? 
COURSE CURRICULUM:
Providing two days of intense training in both personal and basic rescue skills. Initially dedicated to developing the individual's personal mountaineering skills, the rescue element of the course will then look at the techniques for effective mountain rescue work. The final days will include an involvement in scenarios working alongside the Wilderness First Aid commands with a full days rescue scenario. Skills covered will include navigation, personal rope-work, search techniques and communications.
 

MT. AMA DABLAM MOUNTAINEERING COURSE - EVEREST TRAINING CLIMB - NEPAL
There is no better place to learn and test skills needed to climb big mountains than in the Himalayas. During our Mt. Ama Dablam expedition in Nepal each autumn we learn to rope up, tie in, and climb together on one of the most impressive mountains in the world. 
Mt. Ama Dablam offers the best training ground in the world for climbers who aspire to climb Mt. Everest or any other high altitude peak.

OTHER MOUNTAINEERING PROGRAMS include:
Introductory Mountaineering Course- 5 days
High Altitude climbing expedition training- 3 days
Rope, Ice, Glacier travel training.

Tim is a certified outdoor skills program instructor, ACMG- Assocationa of Canadian Mountain Guides Heli Ski Guide, Professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Assocation, Professional Mountain Rescue instructor and Risk Management professional.

All programs are subject to the signing of release waiver form and agreeing to the terms and conditions of joining a program. Deposit is due at time of booking to hold your spot and the final amount is due not later than 30 days prior to your arrival.
