Bergman in Colorado Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame

TUESDAY, 21 FEBRUARY 2012
Submitted By: Mariangela Silvestre

Bill Bergman will be inducted to the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame this October as a true 'pioneer' of the ski industry and one of the founders of Keystone Resort over 40 years ago.

Bergman worked closely with Max Dercum, who had the original dream of what Keystone Resort could become. Bergman possessed the business skills in their partnership and eventually partnered up with an investor- a dog food producer, named Ralston Purina, and turned the resort dream into reality. Bergman has been credited as the individual who transformed skiing into a corporate enterprise and laid down some of the practices and business templates that are still used at ski resorts across the world today. He was also Keystone Resort's first president and the Bergman Bowl area was later named after him in honor of his contributions to the business.

The Colorado Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame induction event will take place this fall on October 26, 2012 at the Omni Resort in Broomfield, CO, where five new members will be honored.
