Top North American Spot for Spring Skiing
TUESDAY, 9 MARCH 2010
Banff-Lake Louise has just been named Top North American Spot for Spring Skiing by The New York Times (February 28, 2010)! But another dump of 25cm of
fresh powder overnight means spring is far from our thoughts. Check out the photos from today, showing that while spring may be super, this is definitely still a winter wonderland. While many ski resorts are preparing for their last few weeks, Mt. Norquay, The Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village have one of the longest ski seasons in North America, and are renowned for heavy late season snowfalls.
But when spring does come, it comes well! With skiing planned until May 24, The Times has praised the huge variety of terrain available through closing day, and Temple "Beach", for the happy, sunbathing skiers splayed on lounge chairs. There are great Spring Specials available now for those who want to be one of those sunbathing skiers, or get some turns in under blue skies and uninterrupted views of the wilderness of Banff National Park. See here for more details.
