Mountain View Grand Resort

TUESDAY, 9 MARCH 2010

This winter, families will enjoy plenty of outdoor fun and indoor luxuries at Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, New Hampshire's only resort to earn the AAA Four Diamond Award for lodging and dining. Dog sled tours, snowshoeing, ice-skating, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing are among the many winter activities offered at this historic grand resort boasting spectacular views of New Hampshire's White Mountains. In addition, Mountain View Grand is offering an enticing $129 midweek rate throughout the winter. The rate is valid for new bookings only and it's based on availability, but discounted lift tickets at Cannon Mountain are included with the rate.

Guests will find dog sledding to be an exhilarating and memorable experience as they ride through snowy woods and unspoiled forests at breathtaking speeds pulled by eight huskies. Mountain View Grand offers weekend dog sled tours that range from an introductory half-hour tour to a three-hour adventure.

Cross country ski trails start just yards from the hotel's front veranda, while downhill skiers can take advantage of the Resort Shuttle Service to Cannon Mountain Ski Area, which offers great skiing and lessons for all ages. Mountain View Grand's outdoor ice rink is hugely popular with guests young and old who delight in the mountaintop setting with twinkling lights.

After a day of outdoor winter recreation, guests will enjoy indoor luxuries and amenities including a movie theatre, indoor pool, four distinctive dining venues and a Conde Nast Traveler award-winning spa.

In addition, guests will witness the creation of wind power, as the Mountain View Grand's newly installed 121-foot wind turbine generates a substantial portion of the resort's current electricity consumption. The only New Hampshire hotel to be designated a 100% Green Power Purchaser by the U. S. Environmental Agency (EPA,) Mountain View Grand has adopted many green innovations to demonstrate environmental responsibility and foster an appreciation for the natural environment among its guests.

Mountain View Grand is a member of Historic Hotels of America. For information or reservations, call 866-484-3843 or visit http://www.mountainviewgrand.com.
