New Hampshire Governor John Lynch has proclaimed January 2010 as Learn a Snow Sports Month recognizing that winter recreation is an important part of the state’s lifestyle and rich winter sports history. In doing so, the state of New Hampshire joins several other states across the nation taking part in the snow sport industries campaign to introduce persons to winter sports. Wildcat Mountain has been introducing persons to winter recreation since it began offering lift-serviced skiing and riding over 50 years ago. Today, with a current staff of 84 instructors that collectively represent over 850 years of experience and 91% certification rate by the Professional Ski Instructors Association & American Association of Snowboard Instructors, that tradition continues with the Wildcat Mountain Learn-to-Ski and Learn-to-Ride programs intended for first-timers.

As a special offer to support January’s Learn a Snow Sports Month, Wildcat Mountain invites “never-evers” to sign up for a Free Learn-to-Ski/Ride lesson package, including rentals and novice lift ticket, during the week of January 4th -10th. In addition, and with no obligation to receiving the aforementioned Free first lesson package, persons will also be able to purchase three additional lessons as part of the First Tracks Pass package at a discount price. The First Tracks Pass package includes three additional lessons, equipment rental & novice lift tickets, and a Free Wildcat Mountain full season-pass at the conclusion of the program. The cost for the First Tracks Pass package during the special Learn a Snow Sports Month will be only $189: a savings of $30 off the normal low price of $219. The free Learn-to-Ski/Ride and discount First Tracks Pass programs are available for first-time skiers & snowboarders only ages 13 and up. Reservations are required and space may be limited.

Participants must visit www.SkiNH.com/LASSM to register and download a Learn to Ski or Ride Free Coupon and then contact Wildcat Mountain to make a reservation for a specific day that week.

Once you have visited the Ski NH website and completed the process to obtain the coupon, please call 1-888-SKI-WILD for more information and to make your free Learn-to-Ski/Ride reservation or visit skiwildcat.com for more information on all available snow sports programs and lessons.

Price comparisons are available on line for a wide range of products: from CD's to household appliances. SeniorSki.com is the sole web site that compares ski lift prices.

Most ski resorts have prices for children, adults, seniors and super seniors but there is anarchy in those definitions. In some sites the adult price start at 20 in others at 12. Senior definition varies from 55 to 8
0. The choice gets more complicated with some resorts charging different on weekends and week days.

The website www.seniorski.com, has all 370 USA ski sites organized in tables ordered by age instead of arbitrary definitions. With just a click prices are sorted according to the age chosen. If 370 are too many to choose from, the selection can be done in short tables for each state.

Free Skiing for Seniors: On weekends a senior 65 years old can ski free in 4 resorts, at the age of 70 free passes are available in 51 resorts, 75 year old fellows will get the passes in 69 resorts and those 80 or better will ski free in 77 resorts. On weekdays the choice is even larger.

Many resorts that do not give free skiing still offer substantial senior discounts. All that information is available on the site.

Each resort covered has its own page with extended information, additional ticket and season pass prices, weather reports, accurate maps and up-to-date snow and grooming conditions.

The website concept was envisaged during by a group of senior skiers trying to find a good deal at a stage in life where there is plenty of time available, but income is not as it used to be.

The United States is the first country in the site that plans to cover the world (about 2000 ski resorts)
