Thursday, 29 January 2009According to the tourism study group Protourisme over 75% of French ski property was occupied over the Christmas period. This is excellent news for the French property market says Liam Bailey chief market analyst for overseas property portal Property Abroad. His exact words were:
"In November this year it was revealed that property prices in southern France have continued growing throu ghout the credit-crunch. So, this massive upsurge in the popularity of the French ski resorts is excellent news for the French property market as a whole. Property investors are widely buying-to-hold until the global recovery begins, and the best buy-to-hold properties are the ones that can make good rental incomes while you wait. If the occupation of French ski property continues then good rental yields are certainly there for the taking. That combined with the low launch prices of off-plan developments near the Alps makes French ski property well worth consideration for investment."
Property Abroad is currently listing one such low priced off-plan property near the Alps. 1 bedroom apartments in the new development in Joue du Loup are available from just £52,872.
La Joue du Loup is a small village linked to the Superdevoluy resort in the southern French Alps. Thursday, 22 January 2009You’ve asked for it, and Nature Valley NASTAR is delivering—the first Eastern U.S. NASTAR event. Nature Valley NASTAR, the nation’s largest grassroots ski racing program in North America, announces the NASTAR Open, taking place at Sunday River, ME January 31 through February 1.
The Nature Valley NASTAR Open is a two-day open ski racing competition designed for aspiring, recreational racers and attracts the most talented racers in the country. All competitors need to race is a NASTAR handicap from any of the 120+ resorts nationwide. The event is open to all NASTAR participants, but will be limited to the first 600 racers that register.
Participants will have the chance to meet, race and train with some U.S. Ski Team’s most accomplished athletes and coaches including former Olympic Game racers, AJ Kitt and Doug Lewis and U.S. Ski Team Coach, Phil McNichol. AJ Kitt and Doug Lewis are both World Championship medalists, whose greatest talent is sharing their passion for the sport of ski racing.
Phil McNichol will be leading pre-race clinics along with the Sunday River race coaches on Thursday and Friday, January 29-30.
In addition to the exciting on-hill races and clinics, attendees can enjoy exciting off-hill activities including a meet-and-greet with Phil McNichol and some of skiing’s premier athletes. The Sunday River Resort village will be the hub of the NASTAR Open featuring an interactive sponsor village, a NASTAR prize raffle, product demonstrations, exhibits and the not-to-be-missed NASTAR Open Awards Party at the Grand Summit Hotel featuring live music.
