Skiers Train during Summer with Roller Skis

The summer season will no longer keep Nordic skiers from training and enjoying the slopes. With roller skis, winter sport athletes can now continue to improve their skills and techniques during the off-season.
Roller skis first became a hit in the 1900s. However, it was not officially launched in the commercial market until late 1970s. Over the years, roller skis have undergone a significant change. From the original three-wheeled and hinged framed models, skiers can now enjoy a comfortable ride on lightweight, non-hinged frame with pneumatic wheels.
Roller skis are also becoming an instant hit with the American crowd. According to Idaho Nordic Treasurer Jeff Gasser, about 10 percent of their skiers have their own roller skis.
