The winter sport season has ended as snow melts in ski resorts, but along with the rising temperature, adventure seekers are turning ski resorts into summer destinations.
The 11, 053-foot Mammoth Mountain, for example, has attracted many mountain bikers to tread the trail of the summit. Deer Valley, Utah is also opening up its resort for the summer with many activities such as hiking or adventure camps for kids. Summer visitors have considered resorts as another venue for mountain biking and other forms of recreation. Most resorts which offer skiing and snowboarding have opened their trails for bikers of all levels.
Most ski resorts are offering huge discounts during the summer in their lodging rates. Summer guests at Vail, Colorado only pay half the price of staying during the winter. For a taste of summer alpine adventure, one can also visit traditional and popular winter ski areas like the Galena’s Chestnut Mountain, Park City, Utah, and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia.
