The Adventure Summit will be held on February 8 -10 at the Student Union, Wright State University at Dayton, Ohio. This is Ohio's premiere outdoor adventure exposition of skill, culture, and experience produ
ced by Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State University.
From the outstanding line up of local presenters speaking about adventures around the world to our featured presentations by nationally known figures such as Olympic Gold Medalist Skier Jonny Moseley, Champion Kayaker Sam Drevo, and Backpacker Magazine Editor-In-Chief and native Daytonian Jon Dorn, The Adventure Summit lineup has never been stronger.
Beyond the dozens of auditorium-style programs, your opportunity to get active is at an all time high. The First Annual Bouldering Competition will be held on Saturday with the Kayak Championship on Friday. Active fitness programs return, highlighted by Andria Davis's Yoga for Climbing and more; in addition to kayak, SCUBA, and fly fishing sessions in the pool.
The exposition has grown to include dozens of regional outfitters, guides, manufacturers, and clubs with a new Film Festival set to debut. Also, don't miss the Party with the Pros events on Friday and Saturday. All the activities will be held at the Wright State Student Union.

A fresh blast of winter weather in Banff National Park brought in over 11 inches of new snow in the past two days. So far this season, over 13 feet of champagne powder has settled on the tri-area resorts. The snow
fall is set to continue this weekend with heavy snow storms in the forecast.
Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine is currently offering a $90 per person, per day package accommodation, tri-area lift tickets and transportation to and from the mountains. Vacationing in Canada's protected playground just keeps getting better and better.

A new bill, authored by Representative Bob Constan, requires skiers and snowboarders alike to wear helmets. The said bill was passed shortly after a skiing accident.
The said incident occurred last De cember, when a 13-year old girl who was skiing at Shanty Creek Resort’s Schuss Mountain in Bellaire died after suffering from a head injury. Authorities claimed that the girl’s death could have been prevented if she was wearing a helmet.
The bill also involves a $100 fine for those skiers and snowboarders who will be caught without helmets. The said bill was co-sponsored by Representative Coleman Young and Aldo Vagnozzi.
Meanwhile, Michigan’s ski and snowboarding resorts like Apple Mountain Resort, Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, Crystal Mountain, Nub’s Nob Ski Area and Snowsnake Ski and Golf are currently offering helmets for rent for only $5 to $10 a day.

The Belleayre Mountain Ski Center in New York is currently offering midweek lift tickets for only $10. The special discount tickets will be available starting tomorrow until Friday. This is in celebration of the W
inter Festival Week.
Aside from the tickets, skiers and snowboarders may also look forward to the special events to be held at Belleayre. To start things off, there will be a Taste of the Town – An Evening in Paris. This event will allow visitors to enjoy local delicacies with a French theme at the Discovery Lodge after a day of skiing and riding. Tickets to the said event are available for only $30 each person.

World class disabled cross country skiers like Chris Klebl of the US Disabled Cross Country Ski Team headed to Oberstorf, Germany for this year's Team's World Cup.
To date, Klebl has already bagged th e win as well as second place at the first part of the said event.
Other skiers who have skied their way to the top 20 were Andy Soule, Sean Halsted, Enzo Masiello, Kirill Mikhaylov, Nils Erik Ulset, Michael Kurz, Frank Hofle, Irek Mannanov, Vasili Shaptsiaboi and more.
Meanwhile, the World Cup Disabled Cross Country Ski Tour is scheduled to go to Vuokatti, Finland this coming January 26.
