British Quarterpipe Championship Kicks Off Oct. 26

The British Snowboard and Freeski Tour will take the UK’s freestyle elite to the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, London, Olympia on Friday, October 26, for the British Quarterpipe Invitational Championships.
Ten of the UK’s top Snowboarders and ten Freeskiers, among them British champions and Olympic hopefuls, will battle it out on the British Quarterpipe Championship title, plus a free holiday out the Brits ’08.
The invitational contest will be the highlight of Friday’s action, with the UK’s freestyle elite pulling out all the stops during the qualification round, hoping to make it through to the grand finals.
2005 Best of British Freeski champion Mike Wakefield, the first Brit ever to land a D-spin 900, will be back in action.
Andy Bennett, 2006 British Quarterpipe champion, and Paddy Graham, 2007 British Halfpipe champion will also be back in action.
In the Freeski competition, the STAR British Snowboard Quarterpipe championship is up for the taking, with last year’s champion Sam Cullun out with injury.
Meanwhile, 2006 British Halfpipe champion Dom Harrington and 14-year-old Jamie Nicholls are eager to step up to the challenge.
