Mogul Skiing - Common Problems and How to Solve Them

Everyone can learn how to ski
Moguls. You just need to understand a couple of things and some basic maneuvers in order to master Mogul Skiing. However, problems are inevitable, especially for novices in Mogul Skiing. Get familiar of the common problems skiers face when skiing Bumps and learn how to solve them:
Problem: Not having the proper techniques
Before you go Mogul Skiing, it is important that you are able to make solid turns in groomed
Snow Ski Surface. But you need more than that in order to ski Bumps.
Solution/s: One of the techniques you need to learn as you go Bump Skiing is how to make short- radius turns correctly. Recall the basics in edging and steering. Being able to skid is important in Mogul Skiing. It should be easy for you to let your Skis to slide in order to turn your Skis across the fall- line and control speed.
Problem: Stance is too upright
Though you are taught to have an upright position when hitting gentle slopes, it will be hard for you to ski Bumps if your back is too straight because the tendency is to throw yourself backward when skiing with speed and taking up the Bumps.
Solution/s: Lower your hips and make sure that your upper body is flexed a little forward. With this position, you will not find yourself tossed backward when you are skiing quickly.
Problem: Legs and knees are too rigid
This is a common fault committed by some skiers. This is usually the case for scared skiers. You will be surely thrown in the air if you are skiing with speed and hit a Bump.
Solution/s: Relax - that's basically what you need to do. To keep your knees bent, relax, lower your hips, and then lean forward, touching the fronts of your
Ski Boots.
Problem: Skiing equipment is not suitable to the demands of the sport
If you already check your ability in Skiing and still experience problems, take a look at your
Skis and Ski Boots. They may be inappropriate in Mogul Skiing.
Solution/s: Make sure that your Skis are not stiff. They are not suitable to Mogul Skiing since they will make it hard for you to turn over and around Bumps. Do not try using fat Skis. Their wide Tips will be bounced around as you ski in Moguls. Shaped Skis with less radical sidecut and softer-flexing can do the work in Bumps.
Stiff Skis alone will make Mogul Skiing difficult, but a combination of stiff Skis and Ski Boots is worse. Make sure that yours is not stiff, just like the Skis.
It is beneficial if you are familiar with the possible scenarios you may face as you go Mogul Skiing. Know the common problems of most skiers when skiing in Bumps. In the likely event that you experience these, you already know what to do.
