I went in Arinsal last year with my son Andora and plan to take my wife
for skiing this year. Looking for advice on what are the great places
to go other than Andorra? looking for somewhere with not a long drive
from the airport and places with some nightlife but not that important.
Im a moderate skiier my wife is a novice skier so need of easy plenty
of runs and as ever not alot of money need a cheap resort and hire some
skis. Any advice there would be good and what is the best time to
go?

Better try Winter Park thats the easiest and cheapest resort and close
to Denver so expect that if you visit on the weekend its pack. They
also have good variety of beginner and intermediate runs with good ski
school.

In what ski destination you are looking is it Europe or America? Im in
America and would like to help you put together a memorable ski trip
for you. If you want in America try Utah resorts with major resorts and
just 40 mins from the airport. You can stay in South Lake Valley with
jsut half hour commute to the mountains. Depending on your budget but
if your in an economy theres a great package at the Ramada Resort
Utah is the best for me.

I'm guessing you're looking for somewhere in Europe, since you came to Arinsal last year. If you want to keep it cheap avoid school holidays. If you haven't booked yet, you probably need to look at late Feb or March after the half term break has finished. There will be good skiing at least until the end of March, and even into May in some resorts. It would be well worth looking around the travel agents and travel websites for last minute deals if you want to keep it cheap. Bulgaria and elsewhere in Eastern Europe will probably be your cheapest options, however there might be good deals for Austria, Switzerland etc. that are too good to refuse.
The advantage of Andorra is that there are lots of native English Speakers in the Arinsal and Soldeu ski schools (I'm one of them, so please excuse me if I sound biased), which might not be the case elsewhere. It is also a lot cheaper than the Alps once you are here. I haven't skied in Eastern Europe myself, so I can't tell you what the resorts are like. I have skied a lot in the Alps, and there are a lot of great places to ski, but it is easy to spend a lot of money there.
