I'm not eactly the biggest fan of commercials, but this one is cool. It's been rolling on Norwegian TV-screens and in movie theatres for the last 3 weeks.

The commercial is for the Norwegian brand Bergans (makes all sort of high end clothing/equipment for skiing, climbing, mountaineering, and so on...I actually wear one of their jacket models for skiing)

Anyway, the clip features a young up-and-coming Norwegian jibber, named Anders Backe. And the trick he performs here...(looks like a switch 720 grab or something), it's smoooooth if ya ask me!

Yeah, it's good, eh?

I'm not sure if he's in any movies, Jake. He made his break-through in Norway last season, and is supposed to compete on an international basis this coming season, and it's been said that he'll be making it big within the next couple of years.

I found this other clip on YouTube from Helly Hansen Invitational, and Backe is one of the skiers featured, but it's impossible to tell which one of 'em he is...But, no matter what, some seriously narly moves of the big jump.

X Games maybe. That'd be pretty cool to see him there. Skiing is so cool in the X Games cause theres people from all over the world. More than any other sport in the games. Hope to see him then.

Yeah, Daz's right!
The X Games is broadcasted here, but not live...Last year it went about a 3-4 weeks before it was aired in Norway!
We do naturally lose a bit of the exitement regarding the winners of the different events, yet it's cool to see the action!

That might be kind of nice though. Its like here they rush you through a week of events and I'm not able to catch most of them. They usually play skiing events during the day and snowboarding at night. Snowboarding is alot more popular around the youth community here so it makes sense. Sucks though.

Snowboarding is still more popular there? Wow...
That's weird... Here, popularity of skiing has gone through the roof during the last 4-5 years (the twin tips changed it!)
I mean, during the 90's, all the "cool kids" wanted to snowboard. Now, the sales numbers for boards has gone down, down, down...while twin tips has gone the other direction. Now even regular non-twin tip alpine skis sell in higher numbers than snowboards.

I guess I cant speak for the whole nation. Ive never been to like Utah, or Colorado. But in the Great Northwest snowboarding pretty much has it locked down.

It pretty much varies from where you go. Some places skiing and others snowboarding.
