I'm in Maine and the best one I can recommend is Sunday River in Bethel. I've been going there for the past seven years. Another popular one is Sugarloaf but I haven't gone there since I was eight so I don't really remember it.
Out west, the only place I've gone to was Snowmass two years ago and it was incredible. It's so different from the east and way better. They have real snow - fresh powder, ungroomed - not the stuff they make, plus there is virtually no ice. It was the best vacation I've ever been on.

If you want the best skiing experience and you wont have to question if
theres a snow or not go to California to Heavenly, outside of Reno it
lives up to its name, everyone goes there during the winter its up
North of California close to Reno, Ive been there once but it was
beautiful its huge and the snow is perfect and not fake that is for
sure.

Have you tried Colorado skiing? Colorado has an elevation of more than 40,000 feet, 30,000 acres of terrain, 13
world-class resorts, and an accustomed 300 days of bright sunshine
(plus over 4,000 inches of snowfall every year), Colorado’s tag line as
the Rocky Mountain State truly encompasses its pristine beauty. Its
impressive alpine micro-capital equipped with swank après ski features,
and haute cooking with series of gentle and stern pistes and runs, made
Colorado one of the finest destinations around the world for snow
activities.
