Anyone know anything about the VholdR wearable camera? It looks pretty sick and I'm thinking about buying it but I wanted to know if anybody has tried it out... If so, are there different mounts or is it just the helmet? How is the quality? Does it plug right into the computer??
Any help would be greatly appreciated

i dont know much about helmet cams except that most of the time i hate the footage from them. its really hit or miss for me, mostly miss. just because i cant stand the quality of them
ive never heard of this particular one but just from viewing the intro video on the site it kinda made me hate it, even though it had nothing to do with the actual cam.
one helmet cam that i really liked the quality on was this one http://www.goprocamera.com/
if i remember right the guys that made it are skiiers too and they built it too their standards
but just search for footage from different models and see which one you personally like better. your price range might matter too.

Never heard of this cam, but from my experience with helmet cams I've hated them.
Used an oregan scientific one last season and it was dreadful, got hours of film of the sky or just snow, couldnt ever get it right. was a pain in the arse to use, the buttons were really hard to press with gloves on, and it went through batterys like mad, wouldnt advise using one, just get a cheap handheld one instead, at least you can see what your filming then.

Thanks everybody for your posts... I ended up buying the VholdR and got a chance to use it this weekend. I had a blast on the slopes with it and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a goggle cam. I haven't gotten a chance to edit my footage yet, but it is excellent quality for a helmet cam. I will let you know when I finish editing!
In the meantime, The VholdR website is also pretty cool, it has a ton of videos from users.... check it out: www.vholdr.com.

The lasers yes! That's the reason I bought the camera! In all seriousness it's a great buy and totally worth the price. I'm headed to Utah tomorrow and I promise I'll post the footage. Might be a good yardsale or two in there!!
Just got back from Utah. Hit up Alta, Snowbird and The Canyons. The weather was awesome, sunny and not too cold. Even though it didn't snow once while I was there the conditions were still good. Got some great footage too! I'll be posting in a few days. Hope you guys enjoy the pics and vids!
Good to hear about the VholdR...whats with this laser on the front? I heard from other people who got them during the holidays and say nothing but good things...I may have to indulge and get myself one. Thanks all
