Weardale Ski Club was founded in 1963, and set up at Swinhope fell in a NE facing snow sure bowl above Westgate in Weardale. The club flourished and the original rope tows were replaced with two Doppelmayr button tows from Austria. We now have a spacious two storey ski lodge and work shop, a snowmobile, snowblower and a Kassbohrer piste basher.
