La Chaumine is a rustic alpine timber chalet. It is located 3kms above La Grave, situated at the edge of the smaller village of Ventelon at an altitude of 1 782m. (5847 ft.)

The Lodge faces due south directly onto the north face of the majestic glaciated peak of `La Meije´ (3983 m/13065 ft.), providing a truly exhilarating and ever-changing view. The prestigious Michelin Guide of France ranked the view as 3 stars, the highest possible rating and considered `Worth a Journey´.

La Chaumine offers 19 bedrooms of which 4 luxury rooms in our newly build wing and 15 cosy standard rooms. This intimate accommodation with a truly exhilarating view includes a large terrace, a spacious dining room, lounge area with open fireplace, comfortable soft furnishing’s, a sauna and bar. La Chaumine wouldn’t be La Chaumine without the pleasant atmosphere and superb views of the restaurant, providing traditional French home cooked meals and wine list.
