Matchstick Productions is the leader in action sport filmmaking. With many awards under their belt the team at MSP have worked with many world-renowned athletes. Their ultra progressive camera techniques, editing and production value has earned them many “movie of the year”,” best cinematography “, “best editing” and other prestigious awards.
Along with innovative photography, Matchstick Productions also specializes in filming in exotic, extreme and distant locations. MSP camera crews have traveled the globe managing to get cameras into locations that other film crews would never go.
In 1990 Steve Winter set out on a journey with a few friends that would lead to a short 15-minute film. From there long time friend, and now co-owner, Murray Wais came aboard to help grow the company to what it is now, a multi facetted production company. Matchstick Productions, while known best for ski action, has progressed into shooting and producing a yearly HD TV series, ski movie, Mt. Bike film, commercials, corporate videos and is one of the leading production companies providing stock footage for commercials world wide.
The company now continues to produce, shoot, direct, and consult out of their Colorado headquarters. The company has grown with over ten employees and hosts a worldwide film tour that excites millions across the globe with mind blowing action sport filmmaking.
Why Matchstick, we liked the name Matchstick Productions because we felt that the potential energy of a match waiting to burn, symbolized the collective power of Matchstick and the energy that Matchstick shares through impassioned, powerful, and meaningful production work.
