In 1975 the LEKI-Sport Lenhart GmbH & Co. KG was founded as the successor of the production company of the "Karl Lenhart, Plastik + Metall" , which existed since the year 1948 already.
In the sixties already grips, baskets and the pioneering new development of a simple mounting system for baskets called "LEKIFIX" were put on the market. Another innovation was a very special heat treating process, which gave the aluminum tubes enough strength to be used for ski poles.
In 1970 the first ski poles were produced under the trademark "LEKI". The revolutionary development of a functioning length adjustment system lead to the first adjustable ski and trekking poles in 1974.
In 1984 Klaus Lenhart took over the management of "LEKI-Sport Lenhart GmbH & Co. KG" and made the company an enterprise with worldwide reputation, trading under the name of "LEKI Lenhart GmbH" since 1997.
Passionate commitment and exchange of experiences - with ski racers, with opinion leaders and with ski crazy customers - cooperation with dealers and suppliers as well as permanent development made LEKI Lenhart GmbH one of the leading ski and trekking pole manufacturers in the world.
Inventions like the Positive Angle (Correction Zone), the Ergosoft Grip, the Trigger-System, constant investments into the development and improvement of technical equipment and quality, consistent expansion and stabilization of new markets in Germany and abroad are the basis of the upward trend of LEKI Lenhart GmbH in Germany.
