Skiing Tricks - Tail Grab

Comparable to the Freestyle mule kick trick in the 70s, the Tail Grab (Jump) is all about touching the tail of one Ski while in the air. Let this section show you how a Tail Grab is done. You can check out our animation as you go through the easy-to-follow steps.

STEP 1: To start off, ski at moderate speed and approach the lip of the jump.

STEP 2: Prepare to do the grab as you reach the lip. At this point, you should have enough air to do the trick.

STEP 3: In doing the grab, cross your Skis and touch the tail of your right (or left) Ski. Crossing the Skis makes it easy for you to do the grab. It also gives this basic trick a cool effect.

STEP 4: Position your Skis parallel to each other after the grab. You are now ready to land.

STEP 5: Make a smooth landing and then ride away.

The Tail Grab is definitely one of the exciting Skiing Tricks around. Master this maneuver to improve your movement in the air. This will help you as you progress to more challenging tricks.
